Mater Health’s QSIM project nominated for Innovator of the Year
Tuesday, 11 November 2025
Cgov is thrilled to celebrate the success of the Mater Health project team, who have been nominated for Innovator of the Year at the 2025 Mater People Awards for their outstanding work on the Quality, Safety and Incident Management (QSIM) project.
This transformative initiative has unified Mater’s previously fragmented safety and quality systems into a single, cloud-based platform powered by Cgov, delivering significant improvements in compliance, efficiency, and responsiveness across all Mater hospitals and services statewide.
A unified platform for safety and quality
Before the QSIM Project, Mater’s safety and quality systems were spread across multiple platforms, creating challenges in consistency, reporting, and responsiveness. The QSIM Project addressed these issues by implementing a centralised solution that brings together:
- Clinical Events Management
- Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Events
- Hazard Registers
- Improvement Initiatives
- Feedback Management
- Mortality Register
This integrated approach has enabled Mater to streamline incident reporting, improve visibility across departments, and respond more effectively to safety concerns.
Delivered with excellence
Led by a dedicated project team, the QSIM system was delivered on time, on budget, and fit for purpose, a testament to the team’s commitment to innovation and operational excellence. The platform has already received fantastic feedback from frontline staff and managers, who appreciate its ease of use, improved workflows, and real-time access to critical safety data.
As shared by Dr Chris Foley, the system is now live and actively supporting Mater’s mission to deliver safe, high-quality care. The QSIM Project exemplifies how technology, collaboration, and leadership can come together to drive meaningful change in healthcare.
Cgov’s role in supporting innovation
Cgov is proud to have partnered with Mater Health on this initiative. Our configurable platform enabled the rapid deployment of a tailored solution that meets Mater’s unique needs while supporting broader goals of continuous improvement and workforce safety.
Being recognised through the Innovator of the Year nomination is a reflection of the project’s impact and the strength of the partnership between Mater Health and Cgov.
We congratulate the entire Mater Health project team and look forward to continuing our support for innovation in healthcare governance and safety.
